Dynamic midcourter Kimiora Poi capped a sensational first year at senior level with elevation to the Silver Ferns for the Northern Netball Quad Series in early 2019. Able to play both midcourt attacking positions, Poi is most devastating from centre, delivering on her exciting promise with a standout season for the Tactix.
Standing at just 1.69m, a lack of height does nothing to detract from Poi’s silky playmaking skills. A gifted athlete with speed to burn, a healthy dose of flair and precision passing, Poi is always in the thick of action. Supremely fit, the fleet-footed pocket rocket is a fine attacking weapon while also an effective spoiler on defence.
A World Youth Cup winner with the NZU21 team in 2017, Poi is set for a promising career, making giant steps in 2018 after being named in the Silver Ferns Development Squad, NZA team and World Series title-winning FAST5 Ferns before making the step up to full Silver Ferns honours.
