Diamonds team to face Silver Ferns named

The Australian Diamonds team for the opening two Tests of the New World Netball Series for the Constellation Cup has been named.
The team for the New Zealand leg of the series features nine members of their World Cup-winning team – captain Laura Geitz, Kim Ravaillion, Caitlin Bassett, Erin Bell, Paige Hadley, Renae Ingles (nee Hallinan), Sharni Layton, Natalie Medhurst and Caitlin Thwaites.
Following the retirements of Julie Corletto, Rebecca Bulley and Kim Green, the Diamonds team will also feature two debutants; Gabi Simpson and Gretel Tippett; and Clare McMeniman, who has been recalled.

The New World Netball Series for the Constellation Cup will see the Silver Ferns host the first two matches at Horncastle Arena, Christchurch (October 20) and Vector Arena, Auckland (October 22), before they cross the Tasman for the final matches in Melbourne (October 25) and Perth (October 30).
The four-Test Series will be the first time fans will see the Silver Ferns and Australian Diamonds in action since the Gold Medal Match at NWC2015.
Tickets are still available for the Test Matches in Christchurch and Auckland. Fans are encouraged to get in quick to see Netball’s greatest rivalry when it returns to New Zealand shores – get tickets.
