Fakahokotau ruled out with ruptured ACL

Silver Ferns defender Temalisi Fakahokotau has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2018 Silver Ferns season after she ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her right knee during training.

Taurua said it was a blow for Fakahokotau who had such a successful ANZ Premiership season leading the defensive stats in intercepts, deflections and rebounding.

“Temalisi is an outstanding player both on and off the court and the loss of her defensive energies will be missed by the team,” she said.

Silver Ferns head coach Noeline Taurua has opted to bring in Silver Fern defender Michaela Sokolich-Beatson as defensive cover.

The Silver Ferns begin their Netball Quad Series campaign this Saturday 15th September in the Netball Quad Series opener against England.
