Grant: “we’ve grown every single day”

Silver Ferns captain Katrina Grant has plenty of praise for her team following their three-nil win over the Jamaican Sunshine Girls in the New World Netball Series for the Taini Jamison Trophy.
The Silver Ferns wrapped up the Series with a 66-38 victory in Rotorua on Saturday night and will now head home to their individual training bases to recover and prepare for the upcoming Series against the Australian Diamonds in October.
“We’ve grown every single day since we came together after trials,” Grant said.
“We’ve got six Tests under our belt now as a group, and everyone has had court time.
“We are learning a lot at training and a lot about each other on and off the court and that can only serve us well heading into the next Series.”

“I’m really enjoying myself. We’re building a new culture and a new way of doing things - it’s very enjoyable,” she said.
“Everyone is enjoying their time – there are lots of challenges – but we’re having fun and I think it does translate on court. There is a fine line… but I think we’ve got a good balance at the moment.
“If we’re enjoying ourselves you want to turn up to training and give it your all; you’re going to be excited to turn up, you’re going to be excited to be here day-in and day-out.
“If the enjoyment factor is there you’re going to want to perform for your coach, the team and your country and I think that’s a good thing.”
The Silver Ferns team to face the Australian Diamonds in the four-Test New World Netball Series for the Constellation Cup starting on October 9 in Sydney will be announced this week.
