Netball’s greatest rivalry returns to NZ shores

For 77 years the Silver Ferns and Australian Diamonds have taken to the court with one goal in mind – victory.
History will tell us that the game has changed greatly since that first Test Match between Netball’s powerhouses in 1938.
But one thing is for sure – the rivalry has stood the test of time and is one that keeps fans and sports enthusiasts riveted year after year.
Netball’s greatest rivalry will return to New Zealand shores in October, just two months after they battled for gold at Netball World Cup SYDNEY 2015.
On that day – Sunday 16 August – it was the Australian Diamonds that emerged victorious to claim the title of world champions by three goals. The win was their 75th over the Silver Ferns.
Now our attention turns to the New World Netball Series with the Constellation Cup on the line.
The four-Test Series will see the Silver Ferns host the first two matches in Christchurch (Oct 20) and Auckland (Oct 22), before they cross the Tasman for the final matches in Melbourne (Oct 25) and Perth (Oct 30).
Tickets to the two Tests in New Zealand will go on sale at 9am, Friday 4 September.
