The Silver Ferns’ remain one of NZ’s most loved brands
The Silver Ferns’ remain one of New Zealand’s most loved brands and their popularity continues to rise as they find favour with Kiwis across the country.
Rankings from the annual Colmar Brunton survey on the “2017 Brands I Love” shows the Silver Ferns leap into the top 20 of most trusted brands in New Zealand, jumping 5% to 17th place.
Success, honesty and loyalty are just some of the driving factors behind the Ferns ability to engage with consumers and their strong local connection. The Silver Ferns brand also rated highly for being bold, family orientated and inspiring.
They continue to be New Zealand’s second most loved sporting team ahead of Emirates Team New Zealand and the Black Caps.
Netball New Zealand chief executive Jennie Wyllie was delighted with the result in what had been a big year of change for the sport.
This year New Zealand’s elite players stepped out on their own – the newly formed ANZ Premiership a bold move from the national organisation as they looked to reconnect with the “Kiwi style” of game on court.
Their success could be measured by more than just winning a highly competitive Quad Series against the Australian Diamonds, England Roses and South Africa Proteas, and retaining the Taini Jamison Trophy against the Roses. The Silver Ferns played in front of full stadiums while viewer ratings continue to rise on SKY TV.
Netball’s elite team are back in action next month when they meet the Diamonds in the Constellation Cup.
