A travelling reserve for the Silver Ferns 2022 Commonwealth Games, rangy defender Elle Temu got her opportunity when named in the Silver Ferns team for the series against Jamaica shortly after. Able to play both in-circle defensive positions, Temu had been knocking on the door after two impressive seasons with her club side, the Stars. Getting to play alongside the experienced Anna Harrison, and with plenty of on-court opportunities at both goal defence and goalkeeper, the 1.89m Temu has come along in leaps and bounds. A mobile defender with an impressive wing span, Temu has the ability to pick off timely intercept ball through speed of foot and long limbs. A player with excellent timing, Temu also reads play astutely well from the defensive end. A former NZSS defender, Temu cut her teeth with the Pulse and is continuing to make promising strides with increased opportunities.
