Attending Hutt Valley High School, Muriel Boswell helped lay the foundation for the strong international sporting pedigree which has continued to flow from the school.

Standing at 1.72m, Boswell had the perfect physique for a midcourt player where she excelled primarily as a centre.

Boswell was 22 years of age when named in the inaugural Silver Ferns team of 1938 which played a one-off Test against Australia, in Melbourne.
