Another to come out of a strong Rotorua era, consistently reliable centre Rebecca Chaplow was selected in the 1963 Silver Ferns team for the inaugural Netball World Cup in England.
A clean, uninhibited and natural player, Chaplow was a dependable link in the Silver Ferns midcourt, rarely putting a foot wrong and proving her value with consistency of performance and an unflappable temperament.
Unpredictable and offering something different in the midcourt, it was unfortunate for Chaplow that she was competing against well-performed captain Pam Barham (nee Smith) for the same position but she made the most of her opportunities.
